Services We Offer
Options
Although we list a number of services here, we will always consider requests for services that are not mentioned. If you have a specific requirement then please call us to discuss.
Engine Design & Building
Customers requirements are infinitely varied and for this reason we try not to limit our engine builds to a strict structure. However we do produce a range of standard builds to meet the requirements of the majority of standard applications and these options are listed in the Products section of this site. For those customers with a more specific goal, we offer a design and specification service with which we offer to all customers at little or no cost. To design an engine around the customers specific needs may initially sound like an expensive task and only for the deep pocketed among us, this is really not the case however and it can often mean a distinct saving if costly options are not necessary to reach the level of output required.
We dynamically balance all of our engine builds (unless otherwise requested) and endeavour to produce a product which will stand the test of time as well as produce the power output that the customer requests. There are an innumerate number of options available and we will not attempt to list them here, it is pertinent, however, to mention the attention to detail which we strain to achieve on every build. We understand that there are many other companies offering engine build services but consider the service we offer to be second to none.
A large majority of our new builds are now formed around a 'Top Hat Linered' cylinder blocks. We take a seasoned cylinder block and have it machined with a recessed block face to accept a liner with a 'Top Hat' flange at the block face. This process eliminates all possibility of liner leakage (sometimes known as block porosity) and therefore making the engine far more secure. For a more detailed description of the process and images of the finished product please see the Top Hat Liner page.
Engine Testing
As mentioned on our dyno page, we have the capability to test engines prior to dispatch, or fitting, so that customers can be safe in the knowledge that their purchase is running perfectly before they begin to use it. We can also plot power output and performance characteristics so that vehicle build specifications such as gearbox ratios and differentials can be calculated and installed prior to the engines arrival.
NEW Dyno Testing - Rolling Road
For engines already fitted to vehicles (including motorbikes!) we now offer a Rolling Road dynamometer service. This is available to customers who have one of our engines or just about anyone who wants to test the power output of there vehicle. We offer an engine tuning and setup option for those running Rover V8 engines but we are able to show and report rear or front wheel dyno figures for engines up to 1000BHP and probably a little more than that as the dyno claims that 1500BHP and 200mph are not beyond it's capabilities. The dyno also has fitted an adjustable eddy brake which allows us to hold an engine in 'steady state' rpm so that we can map engines that use aftermarket management systems.
Engine Fitting
Although it is not our primary business we do fit engines into vehicles if requested. We will also perform engine transplants and the rebuild of an engine already fitted to a vehicle. We also offer fitment of all of our induction and camshaft kits. We are pleased to quote for all of these services for any vehicle, please telephone or e-mail with your requirements and we will calculate costs and offer any options available. Please be aware that fitment services are likely to increase the delivery time of most engines and parts.
Head Development
As well as direct sales of cylinder heads we are also capable of making modifications to our customers own cylinder heads to their specific needs. Either from required flow figures or from engine specifications and expected power outputs we can design a cylinder to head to suit almost anyone's needs. There are obviously physical restrictions to the modifications that can be made but we have a good deal of experience in the field and can advise our customers as to the limitations of the casting.
